A hotspot question is a question that requires the quiz taker to click on the correct areas within the image to answer the question. Hotspot questions are used widely in software simulations, geography, and where users have to identify something from a picture. It is an excellent way to add more interactivity to your quizzes by adding hotspot questions.
QuizCreator has the feature of adding hotspot questions to quizzes. The hotspot questions feature allows users to create multiple hotspots in one image with multimedia supported. Let’s take a simple example about how to make hotspot questions with QuizCreator.
- Open QuizCreator program. And then click the Questions button and select Click Map.

- We are now in the hotspot question interface. Enter the question text in the Enter the question field of the pop-up question editing window.
- Next, we click on the Import button to import an image from your computer to the Import the map field.

- Once imported, we will see the image. Then, we mark the hotspots on the image by clicking the Rectangle or Circle icon under the image and drawing rectangles or circles on the image.
- You will now be taken back to the question interface and you are done. Your hotspot question is complete! Publish the quiz and have a look at the published output below.
As you can see above, I have drawn the rectangles over these mouse wheels. Once you have correctly drawn the rectangles, click the OK button.
Tips:
Set feedback to hotspot question. Click the Set Feedback button to edit the feedback below the choices. You can edit different feedback depending on whether the answer is correct or incorrect.
Add multimedia to hotspot question. You can add multimedia such as images, sound, Flash movie and Flash video to illustrate the hotspot question.
